Functional prepositions in the names of in Ibn al-Nazim 's book (Explanation of Ibn al-Nazim on Ibn Malik 's Millennium: An Analytical Grammatical Study

Abstract

 This study is mainly concerned with the ' Letters ' that work on the nouns, as Ibn Annadhim sees them in his book (Sharh Ibn Annadhim fi Alfiyyat Ibn Malik). The aim of the study is to acquaint the readers with the efforts of Ibn Annadhim, as a scholar of Arabic grammar, over the ' Letters ', together with his methodology. The researcher used the inductive and the descriptive methods in data collection and analysis. There arrived at the following results

Ibn Annadhim did not mention the meanings of the preposition (min) as other scholars did.
He opposed the Basra scholars on their views about the work of the ' Letter ' (illa). He also opposed Sibawayhi and other scholars on some views.
He agreed with Kufa scholars over their views about (ya annida) & its work on the nouns.
Ibn Annadhim was mostly affected by the Kufa scholars
