Vocabulary between Standards and Function "The Basic Book for Teaching Arabic to Speakers of Other Languages", an evaluation study

Abstract

The learning of second language requires good vocabulary to be 
a successful learning because vocabulary is an important element of the 
language which can be achieved their purpose such as meaningful or 
significantly side by concerted systems. There is no doubt that the 
expansion of language repertoire is an important sign of the linguistic 
competence of the individual. Evaluation, in general, is the means by which 
we can judge the success of the whole learning process. The linguistic 
evaluation - especially - is a process by which we learn at the level of 
learners, and the amount of achievement, and the adequacy of their 
performance, and their strengths, and weaknesses in language skills and 
language elements such as vocabulary. One of the pioneering work in 
teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers is the Basic Textbook of Arabic 
Language, prepared by the Research and Curriculum Unit at the Institute of 
Arabic Language for Non-Arabic Speakers at Umm al-Qura University in 
Mecca. He was composed by a group of scholars of fate and status. The 
aim of this study is to examine the criteria on which the vocabulary 
evaluation process was based in this groundbreaking book. One of its 
objectives is to ensure that the various forms of evaluation have contributed 
to the success of vocabulary education. The study includes the types of 
vocabulary evaluation of objective questions of various kinds. And test the 
success of their learning in terms of the outputs that they measure; such as 
the diverse abilities of learners to good expression and selection of 
information and remember, sound reading, correct writing, understanding 
and perception, and the ability to apply the re-use of vocabulary in new 
sentences, and innovation, criticism, and evaluation. In terms of the rules of 
preparation, such as clarity, identification and relevance to objectives In 
terms of enjoying the benefits of a good calendar such as honesty, 
consistency, objectivity and inclusion. It concludes with conclusions that 
reflect the success of the vocabulary evaluation process in that important 
book.
