Britain and the Islamic Revolution in Iran, 1979

Abstract

The Research aims to clarifying the British position on The Iranian 
Revolution in 1979 , It turns out that the British government was trying to 
prevent the collapse of the monarchy in Iran ,which prompted it not to support 
the Iranians Revolution ,This position was motivated by the preservation of its 
interests in the region on the one hand and the prevention of soviet expansion on 
the other hand ,however the British Plans did not succeed The revolution was 
able to Achieve its objectives and the formation of an Islamic government in 
Iran in 1979,However The British tried to Improve their relations With the New 
regime in Iran , but their Previous Policy towards the Latter prevented this from 
happening
