The Jalayirids during The Ilkhanid Period (655-736 AH/1257-1335 AD)

Abstract

Jalayirid State had relations with Ilkhan State, they were princes at Ilkhan State who placed their trust and attention in them, as “Ilkhan” was one of Mongol’s military leaders marched towards Iran, assigned by Hulagu with many missions during his conquests, which were accomplished successfully, as loyal and close leader to him, after “Hulagu’s” death, remained prince of army during reign of his son “Abaqa Khan” till his death. His sons participated in service to Ilkhan State in its military events, his sons “Koqa” and “Oreto” joined Hulagu upon conquering Baghdad, “Abaqa Khan” raised one of Jalayir tribe sons, “Boca Hulagu” who became lead princes and advisor later on, participated in service of Jalayir nation, Jalayirid maintained its position during Ilkhanate after death of “Ilkhan Nuyan”. Such relation was not limited to army and war, but suppression of revolts and administration of some states, “Hussain Ibn Aqbogha” prince of Khurasan during Abi Saa’ed, his son “Sheikh Hassan” founder of State for ruling of Rumelia, further marriage-kinship among them, “Hussain Ibn Aqbogha” married Ilkhanate’s daughter “Arghon”, they had “Hassan Al- Jalayiri” founder of Jalayirid State.
