Abstract

This study deals with (the Rise of Oil Cities) in Saudi Arabia (The city of Begaig as a Model), from (1946-1970).ال It is a study in the history of development. The significance of this study lies in the rise and development of Begaig from a barren desert land into a city in which all services are available during the reign of its first Amir a Prince (Hamad bin Saeed bin Ibraheem Al-Jubair.
            This study has identified the location of the Begaig location and the biography of its (Amir). Then, it deals with the establishment of government departments in addition to all needed services by its inhabitants and those working in them in the departments of education, health services, transportation and communications, in addition to providing sports centers for practising their sport hobbies and entertainment places.
            This study has reached several results, among which are:

The discovery of oil in the city of Begaig, particularly from 1940, is the beginning of its rise as an oil city.
begaig has become a complicity as regards vital and development services, which include government departments, housing, education and health services, beside the availability of modern transportation and communication services, such as roads and other services needed by their inhabitants, thanks to (ARAMCO), which has a great role in their existence and establishment due to their dire need for facilitating and making easy its functions.
