Abstract
This study aims to explore the semantic fields encompassed by the vocabulary of resistance literature, to examine the nature of the words in terms of literal and figurative usage, and to highlight the distinguishing features of the language used in the two Intifadas compared to that of the Al-Aqsa Flood. This study investigates the emergence of new vocabulary associated with the First and Second Intifadas and the recent "Al-Aqsa Flood" in Palestine, highlighting how sociopolitical conditions shaped the linguistic landscape. It aims to identify and categorize these terms within semantic fields and to explore the factors influencing their lexical and semantic properties. Drawing on interviews, institutional records, media content, and previous studies, the research is divided into two main sections: the vocabulary of the Intifadas and that of the Al-Aqsa Flood. Key findings reveal differences in tone, structure, and usage, with the Intifadas marked by symbolic and figurative language, and the Al-Aqsa Flood characterized by more literal, religiously influenced, and compound expressions. Both sets of vocabulary show influences from Hebrew and local dialects, and reflect the realities of conflict through terms related to resistance, violence, and martyrdom. While the Intifada vocabulary was analyzed statistically, the vocabulary of the Al-Aqsa Flood was not quantified due to the ongoing nature of events.
