Abstract

The current research aims to measure the impact of using generative artificial intelligence, specifically ChatGPT, on shaping knowledge and cultural identity among Generation Z individuals. The research employed the social survey method using a sample of (300) individuals from the same generation, utilizing a three-point Likert scale as a tool for collecting quantitative data.
The research findings revealed a statistically significant correlation between the use of ChatGPT by Generation Z individuals and the formation of their knowledge and cultural identity. The Pearson correlation coefficients were (0.793 **, 0.731 **) at a significance level of (0.01). This result indicates that the more Generation Z individuals use ChatGPT, the greater its impact on building their knowledge and shaping their cultural identity.
The research also presented several recommendations proposed by the sample participants to enhance the role of ChatGPT in shaping knowledge and cultural identity. Among the most notable suggestions were: ensuring that users have prior awareness of digital culture, providing ChatGPT with a comprehensive and diverse database covering cultural heritage and national history for each Arab country, conducting training sessions to prepare young people for the optimal and responsible use of the application as a knowledge source, improving the accuracy of the information and sources relied upon, and enhancing security and privacy standards.
