Abstract

It aims to clarify the difference between these two terms, through the meaning inferred from the context of the verses in which these two terms appear.
I used the descriptive analytical and comparative approaches to reach the goal of the research; where I studied the Quranic verses in which these two terms appear in Surat Al-Baqarah.
I stand on the statements of scholars in interpreting those verses, and I compare between the two terms through the context of the verses that included them.
The nature of the research required that it be organized into: an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, a list of sources and references, and an index.
The titles of the chapters came as follows:
Chapter One: The term (the world) in Surat Al-Baqarah.
Chapter Two: The term (worldly life) in Surat Al-Baqarah.
I came out of this research with several results, the most important of which are:
The term "the world" was never mentioned in a position of blame, while the term: "worldly life" was always mentioned in a position of blame.
The term "worldly life" is not mentioned except in conjunction with the term "the Hereafter" in the same verse, while the term "worldly life" is sometimes mentioned alone, sometimes in conjunction with the term "the Hereafter", and sometimes in conjunction with the term "the Day of Judgment". Keywords: worldly life, worldly life, the first abode, worldly affairs, worldly abode
