This study attempts to determine the social effectiveness of documentaries in supporting cultural and creative industries, determine the nature of the topics covered by documentaries, reveal the most important challenges facing cultural and creative industries, specifically documentaries, know the scenarios for the sustainability of those changes produced by digital transformations in documentaries, reveal the efficiency of documentaries in supporting cultural and creative industries, and clarify the most important future plans proposed to improve the efficiency of cultural and creative industries. It is based on the theory of human capital, reception theory, cultural industries and the Frankfurt School, and finally the theory of innovations or innovations.
The field study was conducted on a deliberate sample of documentary film followers, and (21) followers were selected in the urban areas of Giza Governorate; This was after conducting a survey study in which the questionnaire tool was applied to a sample of documentaries followers and non-followers. The analytical study also relied on analyzing the content of (8) documentaries, in addition to the observation tool, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions.
The study concluded that documentaries are efficient and effective in supporting cultural and creative industries, based on the availability of a supportive societal context; given that documentaries focus on the type of real events with different methods of addressing issues and methods of dealing with them. The study recommends the following: The need for the state to direct support to cultural industries, and to develop development plans to increase digital content of documentaries interested in cultural heritage, specifically traditional crafts, in Arabic and in multiple languages; to make cultural products and industries available through digital platforms to help market and protect them, and publish them at an appropriate price without affecting the product itself, and to protect the intellectual property rights of documentary filmmakers to protect cultural and creative industries through legislation.
