The effectiveness of a counseling program to develop problem-solving strategies to alleviate the psychological and social pressures associated with the Corona pandemic for a sample of mothers of autistic children.

This research aimed at the effectiveness of a program to develop problem-solving strategies to alleviate the psychological and social pressures ssociated with the Corona pandemic for a sample of mothers of autistic children. The sample consisted of (24) mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder, and they were divided into two equivalent groups, the first group is the experimental group (12) mothers of children with autism spectrum, and the second group is the control group (12) mothers of children with autism spectrum. The performance of the members of the experimental and control groups was measured on a scalePsychological stress and social stress scale before and after the program, while the tracking measurement of the experimental group was carried out four weeks after the end of the program The results of the study showed a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.01) between the average grades of mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder in the experimental group on the psychological stress scale and on the social stress scale in the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement, the results of the study found a statistically significant difference at the level of significance 0.01)  between the average ranks of the scores of mothers of autistic children in the experimental group on the total score of the psychological stress scale in the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement. And the presence of a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.01) between the average ranks of the degrees of mothers of autistic children in the experimental and control groups after the application of the program in the total degree of the social stress scale in favor of the experimental group. In addition to the presence of a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.01) between the average ranks of the scores of mothers of autistic children in the experimental group on the psychological stress scale in the dimensional and tracking measurements in favor of the tracer measurement. There is also a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.01) between the average ranks of the degrees of mothers of autistic children in the experimental group on the scale of social stress in the dimensional and tracking measurements in favor of the tracer measurement.
