Abstract

The world is currently witnessing a growing level of awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ratified by 185 countries, encourages their full inclusion in their societies and provides an important framework for promoting inclusion and promoting equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development explicitly states that disability shall not be a reason or justification for the inability to benefit from development programs or the realization of human rights.
This paper aims to monitor the issues of women with disabilities in Egyptian society, to reveal the nature of women with disabilities, the causes and types of disability, and the challenges they face, which include: family, social, economic, service, cultural, educational, and health challenges.
Finally, the protection and empowerment strategy for women with disabilities to draw a map to enhance human investment in their capabilities, which requires the government, civil society, international agencies and academic circles to cooperate in order to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families. And adopt a single vision towards "a world that allows all individuals to enjoy a long and healthy life, while involving and empowering people with disabilities and enhancing their own capabilities.
