Abstract

The current scientific paper aims to explore the relationship between the reality of the social and cultural context, and the methodology of interaction with People of disabilities. This is achieved through examining the scientific heritage concerning the concepts of disability and People of disabilities in various disciplines studying this subject. The paper poses a set of general questions related to the process of comparing different international experiences that focus on this important social group. The paper begins with a set of objectives that define the essence of the concepts of social and cultural context and the concept of People of disabilities in light of both negative and positive perspectives. It analyzes the intricate interplay between the social and cultural through an integrative vision, and identifies its implications on programs aimed at activating the partnership of People of disabilities with their communities. The objective is to present a set of recommendations for policymakers to enhance the programs and social policies benefiting People of disabilities and their families.
