Abstract

This research deals with the renewal critical reading of Sufism in the writings of the late Egyptian thinker Ahmed Mahmoud Al-Jazzar. We have given it a subtitle: “A Reading for Reading”. If Al-Jazzar’s works represent a contemporary methodological reading of Sufism, we can consider this modest research “A Reading for Reading,” especially that this “reading” on the one hand, and the “Reading of the Reading” on the other hand have represented a contemporary renewal methodological view of the concept of Sufism. Accordingly, this research includes the following topics:

Al-Jazzar’s attitude towards the methodology of Sufism
Sufism and the concepts of knowledge and annihilation according to Al-Jazzar
Sufism, guardianship, and dignity according to Al-Jazzar
“A Critical Vision”
