Tughrel Bey, the founder of Seljuk State 375 AH / 985 - 455 Ah /1063

Abstract

This study deals with the Muslim character of "Tughrel Bey", which played a major role in the establishment of a Sunni Turkish state in 429 Ah, in a period of weakness and disintegration of Muslims, under the Abbasid caliphate. The Sunni Abbasid caliphate was subjected to a Zaidi Shiite (Buwihid) force, which had been come from Tubaristan in 334 Ah, then they dominated the Sunni Abbasid caliphate. The emergence of a young Sunni Muslim force, led by the Seljuk Turks in the late 4th/10th century Ah, would have an opportunity to oppose the Fatimid Shiite caliphate, which had been established   in North Africa since 296 Ah, and then, it occupied   Egypt and the Levant since 358 Ah. The  personality of "Tughrel Bey", a distinguished leader, was particularly important in the leadership of the Seljuk, and even in shaping  our Islamic history at the time, where he played an important role in expanding this power and strengthening its position, and announcing the establishment of this Seljuk state led by Tughrel Bey in the Orient, At the expense of the Sunni Ghaznawi state, in 429 Ah, and then its growing strength and expansion, at the expense of other forces, such as the Zaidi (Bowhead) state, which had been dominated the Sunni Abbasid caliphate.  Then, Tughrel Bey will get recognition of the legitimacy of his state from the Abbasid caliph, in 449 Ah, and will become a sultan in control of the Abbasid caliphate and the ruler of the Seljuk state, which extended from India to the Levant to the west, and included beyond the Madeira river, Turkistan, Iran, Iraq, the Arabian Peninsula and parts of the Levant, and competed , the Fatimid Shiite caliphate in the 5th century Ah ,which had been threatened the existence of the Abbasid caliphate     .
