Abstract

Abstract:
This research deals with the translation of the Torah adopted in the interpretation of Imam al-Baq'i of the Holy Qur'an, as a model for a comprehensive Arabic workbook by a Jewish translator; in another word, it is a work written in Arabic and as an Arabic script. Therefore, it presents a different model for the Hebrew writing style, which was widely used in the medieval period, known as the Arabic-Jewish writing, in which the most important Jewish works of that era were written down, the most prominent of which was Saadia Camon’s translation of the Torah.
Research problem:
The research attempts to reach the identity of the translator in terms of the environment in which he lived and the time in which he lived, through the verbal mprint, given that this translation did not bear the name of the translator, as was customary in most Jewish writings written down in Arabic calligraphy at that time.
