The Aesthetics of Story Sequence: “At the eyesight level” for Muntasir Al-Qaffash as an example

Abstract

This study deals with “Story Sequence” as a modern narrative genre, which impose itself on cultural life because of its aesthetic nature, that attracts writers. This genre is resulted from the process of literary evolution. The writers have recently presented literary works, with stories linked together from the beginning to the end. The writer skillfully supports the links between stories according to a number of techniques. It is also possible to read any story within the sequence as an independent artistic unit, in isolation from other stories.
This article analyzes one of the works of the writer "Montaser Al-Qaffash", entitled " At the eyesight level", in order to show how he deals with this narrative genre, and to explain his sequences’s aesthetics.
The study makes use of the narrative research, and the thematic analysis method. Then it ends with several results, some related to the "story sequence" in general, and others related to the sequence of Muntasir Al-Qaffash in particular.
