The Effectiveness of an Integrative Selective Counseling Program to Improve Body Image for a Sample of Adolescents Who Suffering From Bulimia Nervosa Disorder

Abstract

The present study aimed to discover the effectiveness of an integrative selective counseling program to improve body image in a sample of adolescent girls suffering from bulimia nervosa, the study sample consisted of (20) adolescent girls who suffer from bulimia nervosa, divided equally into two groups, an experimental group (10) Adolescent, and a control group (10) adolescents, whose ages ranged from (16-18) years with a mean (17.30), a standard deviation of (0.82) for the control group, a mean (17.46), standard deviation (0.84). For the experimental group, the researcher used the body image scale prepared by the researcher, the bulimia nervosa disorder scale prepared by the researcher, and the socio-economic level form prepared by Mohammad Safan and Doaa Khattab (2016), The researcher also implemented the counseling program for a period of two and a half months, as the number of program sessions reached (20) sessions, at a rate of two sessions per week., as the number of program sessions reached ( 20) sessions, The results of the study showed improvement in body image among the experimental group members after applying and following up the program
