Bullying Against Women in Folk Proverbs (a Folkloric Field Study on a Sample of Ain Shams University Students)

Abstract

 importance of the study is highlighted by highlighting bullying against the female, which represents a deviation in behavior that warns that there is an imbalance in the social and cultural structure of society. The main problem is that our Arab society embodies the male community and allows for the distinction between males and females, as shown in popular proverbs.Likewise, the growth of social studies concerned with forms of violence within Arab societies in general and violence against women in particular, greatly contributes to monitoring the characteristics and features of the social structure in society and monitoring the imbalances and deviations within it. Women in our culture have been described in general as incoherent, unbalanced emotionally, lacking To composure, not smart enough, not productive, and only suitable for staying at home and within the family.Therefore, the researcher will address this important topic to analyze the defects and deviations in our Egyptian culture and the extent of university youth awareness of refuting these proverbs that are associated with bullying against females. The study sample consists of (100) cases, whose ages range from (19-22) years, from theoretical and practical colleges, specifically the College of Science and the College of Education, Ain Shams University, various departments, which varied between (50) and females (50), and the study reached a number of results: Most of the Egyptian popular example entrenches bullying against women and the inferior view of them.
