Envy and Its Effect on the Behavior of Individuals Anthropological Study

Abstract

Based on the functional theory that society is a single format consisting of a set of interactive and supportive elements affecting each other, the researcher will address the belief in envy as part of popular beliefs in relation to the general pattern (society), and symbolic interaction, there is no single individual isolated, human beings are in a state of constant association with others, there is a relationship between popular beliefs and behaviors that come from individuals, beliefs are the indicator of social and cultural life and the detection of their change contribute to understanding change outside and around them, and always related, The idea of envy (eye) is meant by the evil eye or the "eye of envy", which brings damage and which relates to many stories of envy, the eye, and the rituals used to neutralize the evil eye effect. The problem of the study is determined by the following question: To what extent does envy affect individuals' psychological and social behavior?
