Abstract

Abstract
The study aimed to identify the effects of social media on the Intellectual security for Jazan University students. The study relied on media survey method and used the questionnaire tool as an electronic questionnaire was distributed to a sample of 421 students from Jazan University.
The results showed  that:

84.1% of the sample believe that there is a spread of religious, security and social extremist ideas on social media.
The negative effect of social media on intellectual security among The sample was average, and (its use A in the electronic recruitment of youth by terrorist groups) came in the first rank of influence with an average 2.75.
Stricter laws and penalties came In the forefront of the students ’suggestions for the state’s role in facing extremist ideas on social media by  35.4% .
