The third year of 1917 of World War I witnessed a violent revolution, which resulted in the fall of Tsar Nicholas II. Followed by the formation of the first provisional government, which lasted from March to May, then the ministerial amendment that lasted from May to July, then the formation of the second provisional government headed by Kerensky and lasted from July to November 1917.
The research paper follows the position of successive provisional governments on the issue of Russia's continuation in the war, as Russia was divided into two teams, the first of which clung to the idea of achieving victory, and the second wanted to end the war quickly.
With the failure of the provisional government to contain the situation, the Bolsheviks took control, so it can be said that the Russian revolution was in two stages, the first is the period of the provisional government's rule, and the second is the rule of the Bolsheviks, and the study focuses on the events of the first stage. The research paper attempts to answer:
Why did Kerensky's policy change from a societally acceptable policy to a policy that the masses sought to change?
What was the Russian military situation in the war?
Did the performance of the Provisional Government contribute to helping the Bolsheviks come to power?
What was the main element that the Bolsheviks played against the government?
Did the Allies' policy contribute to supporting or overthrowing the Provisional Government? And why?
