ما زال التراث النبوي غنيا بالمضامين الجمالية والبلاغية، ومن ذلک الحجاج کنمط من أنماط الخطاب، بغرض الإقناع، والتأثير على المتلقي، فتناول البحث آليات الخطاب الحجاجي.. من وسائل حجاجية لغوية من أمر ونهي، واستفهام، وآليات بيانية تشبيهية، وبديعية من تکرار ومقابلة، وثنائيات ضدية، وتناول العدول الترکيبي من تقديم وتأخير، وحذف.
وتم اختيار خطبة حجة الوداع نموذجا لبيان ذلک على وجه الخصوص؛ لما لها من حظ بلاغي وافر؛ إذ حظت بأسلوب لغوي فريدٍ، ورائع، حاول فيه النبي معالجة أهم القضايا التي تهم الإنسانية، کذلک فقد شغلت هذه الخطبة الناس، ودرست من جوانب مختلفة؛ لذا فإن البحث حاول دراستها من زاوية مختلفة جديدة، وهي دراسة الحجاج فيها، حيث إن معالم الحجاج تبدو جلية فيها.
